Thought For The Day

Uninformed

According to Associated Press there is a roadside billboard sign in Iowa that says, in part, – “Radical leaders prey on the fearful & naive.” While that particular sign may be purely political, it points to at least two important truths.

First, leaders of any kind utilize their skills to move those less skilled toward whatever it is the leader is attempting to accomplish. We may argue over whether leaders or born or made, but the fact is that some (usually few) can and do lead while others (usually many) are content to follow. Unfortunately, the most common reason people are led into negative and damaging pursuits, is because they are uninformed or mis-informed. Of course the opposite is also equally true. Positive actions, which results in the successful establishment of individual and collective greatness, are always accomplished by those who are knowledgeable and have access to correct information.

For example, great Nations are formed and perpetuated by a preponderance of knowlegeable people who are led by those whose primary mission is to inform truthfully and support production of resources. (Resources will include the entire spectrum of diversity from the production of great minds [education] to sufficient energy [be it oil, coal, or nuclear fission].)

Second, from a spiritual perspective, the Enemy preys on the mind that does not have a clear knowledge of Scripture along with the discipline required to make the right choices. Leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ who fail to adequately proclaim and disclose the Truth leave behind a uninformed, or worse, mis-informed, Body of Believers. When the scourge of  ignorance and apathy plague the Body of Christ, failure to positively influence society is one of the devastating dangers that fosters a rise in leaders who prey on the “fearful and naive.”

We’re all in this together, my llove. We best understand that truth!
