Thought For The Day

Warning

Do you every get warnings? When there is a tornado in the area many cities have warning sirens. Maybe you have been lucky enough that the DPS Trooper who stopped you is in a mood to give you a warning. My Bride’s car has a warning bell that tells her she has reached the minimum closeness before hitting something.

There are a multitude of warnings in Scripture. Paul told the Church at Colosse that part of his job was to proclaim Christ, part was to teach them Truth, and part was to issue wise warnings.

I am not sure we hear many warnings these days in our Family of God gatherings. Maybe there are more warnings in certain sections of the denominational landscape, but I don’t remember hearing my Pastor use the word “warning” very often.

Perhaps that is part of the problem that plagues the 21st Century Church. We just don’t warn people any more. May I share some examples?

Warning: Failure to be involved in the Family will hinder ones ability to grow stronger in the faith by reason of the loss of enlightenment, encouragement, support, care, and llove of one’s gifted Family members.

Warning: Failure to spend time in the Word of God and Prayer will hinder you ability to recognize the work of God’s Spirit in your daily walk of faith.

Warning: Your sin will find you out.

Warning: A root of bitterness springing up in you or those around you will bring destruction and death to the Family.

Warning: Jesus is coming soon!

Just saying.
