Thought For The Day

Warning

If things were not so deadly serious I would be tempted to laugh a bit. We seem to have come as a World society to a place where warnings are not taken seriously.

For example; we warn our children – “if you do that again. . .” or “stop that immediately. . .,” after which we seldom follow through with any kind of real discipline until we have “turned blue in the face” from making such pronouncements.

We hear warnings about “texting while driving,” “drinking and driving,” and “click it or ticket.” But people continue to do such things (or fail to do so) without much concern that they will suffer any ill effects.

We have done it over and over as a Nation. Here is the latest example:

BEIRUT (AP) — A high-ranking Syrian official called the U.S.-Russian agreement on securing Syria’s chemical weapons a “victory” for President Bashar Assad’s regime, but the U.S. warned Sunday “the threat of force is real” if Damascus fails to carry out the plan.

Meanwhile, the Syrian regime celebrates. If you can’t think of other instances were “warnings” are ignored, let me know. I can share a few.

There is a warning, however, from which there is no escape. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  (John 14:6) That is a warning which will lead to certain Spiritual death unless heeded.

I urge you to consider it today – while you have opportunity.
