Thought For The Day

Wasted Time = Wasted Life

Some people seem born to win. Whether they enter this World with winning talent and ability, or whether winning is learned and earned by hard work, there are those who become extremely successful in this life.

When there are so many people who would do almost anything to be successful in one endeavor or another, it seems a waste that there are those who are so caught up in their own foolishness, they blow their success, often never to recover.

The Browns indicated Tuesday that they’ve finally had enough of [Johnny] Manziel’s bad-boy behavior and intend to release the quarterback in March when the league begins its next calendar year. Manziel has run out of chances in Cleveland, where he was welcomed like a hero but will leave in disgrace to a cloudy future. (AP-Sports)

When we are born anew into the Kingdom of God, we are blessed with ever Spiritual blessing, gifted by God’s Spirit, and indwelled by the one who teaches us all things (John 14:26).

Why is it so many of those who are indwelled by the Spirit of God piddle away the blessings and gifting, and choose a life of uselessness and waste in light of God’s calling to all Believers? We are not designed (in our New Birth experience) to fritter away our call to ministry among one another, our passion for caring, the overflowing llove of God reaching out to those around us, or to abandon our family (the Church) for the machinations of the World.

One clear lesson of history is that for a human being, sufficient wasted time equals a wasted life.

It makes me want to hit someone over the head. . .and say, wake-up dummy!
