Thought For The Day

Wishing For Information

Some people just want “more information.” I count myself among them.

I want to know what is really behind all the rhetoric regarding the actions and reactions in Washington, D. C. I would like to know why a 17 year old young man would shoot 20 (give or take) people killing 10 of them, and, as a result, in all probability, spend the rest of his life in prison, and damage the life of his family forever. I long to understand why people ignore the Church of Jesus Christ even when they have chosen to become “members” of a local body. I search for reasons why “llove shared” is not the focus of every Believer, and sharing the Gospel with others is not a priority in life. My ignorance in so many subjects leaves me wondering if Truth any longer holds a credible place in our society.

Why do Believers continue to sin when a righteous heart is so easy to obtain (see 1 John 1:9)?  Why do people doubt the mercy, grace, llove, peace, joy, comfort, and sufficiency of God when all of Scripture and life point toward their availability – just for the asking? (See God’s revealed Word) Why is lying, stealing, cheating, and hurting others so much the practice of the day, and the governors of countless lives both inside and outside the family of God?

I know we (?) blame the Enemy. But he is a defeated foe. We blame each other – yet each is our brother or sister.  We condemn “society” when it is we who are!

I wish I were more cognizant of the answers – the Truth. I wish I were able to share that Truth more effectively. I recognize that particular failure, and all the other failures, are my part of the equation. How easily it has come to say with impunity. . .I just don’t know!
