Inflation
I don’t visit the grocery store unless I am forced to do so by my lovely bride. I do understand, however, the the prices of items found there are moving upward with great haste. Gasoline costs for my endless driving is way up, even though the price has come down some also. I would suppose that all other family needs are on the same climb. If inflation continues to rise the old adage will be true again – “if your outgo exceeds your income your upkeep will be your downfall.” I’m hoping the money people will be getting all things together soon.
I am beginning to believe there is a little “inflation” in the life of Believers as well. By that I mean – it it is getting harder to live a life of joy and peace, and a lack of concern about what tomorrow may bring. The Enemy brings doubt that given a stable income we are going to find it difficult to avoid going into debt. . .or greater debt, than was ever imagined. As the cost of living rises, so too rises the frustration of trying to stay ahead of financial chaos. For many the first financial cut is in our giving to support the work of the Church and the Missions endeavours throughout our World .
I am a firm believer that living within one’s means is a wise and Biblical principle. Supporting the life of one’s Church, or providing funds for missions – as one purposeth in one’s heart to do – will provide a financial blessing from God in return. Be consistent in prayer and committed to the Truth, and God will continue to “supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory.” (See Philippians 4;19)
Whether thing are going well, or trials abound, the Truth is clear: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
