The Book
Can it be said that each of us is “writing a book” of our life day by day? If so, it is being written for the next generation – those who are born after your writing. Do your children, and those of others children born to friends and family, praise the Lord because of what you have written?
In Psalm 102 we see the writing of a life (however limited), and discover an individual who had a multitude of troubles and struggles. The first 11 verses outline some of his despair. But, thank God, it does not end there. In the following verses the writer seems to have a change of heart, and writes some Truth for the generation to come. Take time to read this short Psalm and hear what he discovers –
God’s endurance is forever. He is patient – unwilling that anyone should perish. He is faithful in our unfaithfulness. He is merciful. He brings healing, peace, comfort, assurance, and confidence. There is pleasure in simple things. Stones and trees are wonderful gifts went we see God’s perspective. He answers prayer. He hears us. He asks us too discover, and pray, in accord with the leadership of His Spirit. Jesus, the Savior intercedes for us.
What is the book of your life? A book of obedience? A book of commitment to Him and His family? A book of faithfulness?
Write well – someone is reading….
