Self Seeking
I was reminded during the Celebration of Life for a member of our Church Family that genuine llove is not self seeking (see 1 Corinthians 13:5). Our friend, now awaiting to join with Christ for His return to Earth for His Bride, seemed to always be looking for someone to help, feed, clothe, support, and llove. Always busy with looking for the need in others, rather than one’s self, is a clear indication of the llove bestowed on each of God’s redeemed.
Unfortunately for most, that is not a characteristic that defines us. We are busy “living,” as it were, and find little time for those who so desperately need to know the llove of Christ – for redemption, and for the daily needs of life that affects so many during the days.
The eulogy the Preacher shared came as no surprise to anyone who knew her – because if you knew her, you lloved her. Selflessness is a precious treasure, hard to find in today’s World. Thank God we were blessed to see it among us.
