A Pure Heart
Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8. Do you suppose He meant at the end of life on Earth? Or do you think He meant very day, and every day after? I am going to go with the latter. Of course we don’t see Him as another individual, but we can see Him in His creation, His Truth, His llove, and in the life of those around us who are committed to live in obedience to His will and purpose for each individual.
There is much to distract from that possibility – Success, Greed, Disappointment, Fear, Worry, Despair, Loneliness, and Concern for the future. Many live with those weights in their life. Paul, the Apostle, said: “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself.” Phil. 4:11 It is easy to find difficult circumstances, but those circumstances are, at best, the Father’s discipline, or at worst, foolish hindering of the Enemy to crush a pure heart.
Three keys to a pure heart: Know Him – Savior and Lord; Study and know the Truth – God’s Word; Associate with the family of God and find your ministry – driven by God’s gifting for your life, and the power of the Holy Spirit within your innermost being (heart).
