Thought For The Day

Death

Death is as real as life. On Monday next, the Preacher will join in laying to rest in the National Cemetery the remains of a Marine who lived into his nineties. That is the way all Marines (and all others who serve in the United States military) should see the end of their life here on Earth. The realities of life, however, dictate that some will die at the hands of enemies of the United States of America. God forbid that those deaths should come through negligence on the part of the Commander-in-Chief, and those who are in control, who fail to perform at the utmost height of competence. Competent leadership builds a workable plan, never, never trusts the enemy, and prepares a sufficient force for the worst possible outcome in the event of unforeseen and uncontrollable dangers. Second guessing is not acceptable. Failure is an ugly, disgusting, and unacceptable outcome.

That same reality is clear in all of life. There is an Enemy in this World. His powers are legion. “But God,” has prepared a perfect plan, and no life should be lost to negligence on the part of those who face an eternity of separation from God forever. The Enemy of “life” will always be untrustworthy, always seeking to damage, destroy, and kill those who are a part of the Human Race. God provided infinite life, a plan for victory, and an overcoming strength to effectively  handle the Evil One.

John 3:16 spells out the plan. That, and every other verse in the life manual (the Bible) provide the insight, wisdom, understanding, and process for victory. Don’t make the mistake of trusting the Enemy. He will destroy your life here on Earth, and you will cast yourself into eternity outside the Kingdom of God. Redemption from the curse of sin and death is real, available, perfect and free. God makes no unworkable  plans, never trusts the Enemy, and never loses a single soul who believes. Today is the day (2 Corinthians 6:2)!!
