Sin and Such
I am reminded of the old saying – “That’s the pot calling the kettle black.” That may not make a lot of sense unless you are among those of us who still use pots and kettles over a backwoods campfire somewhere. I guess one should not be surprised when portions of our society will defend an individual regardless the depth of their sin, and castigate another person irrespective of their sin.
The reality is that all sin is a violation of God’s holiness, and while various sins may produce greater difficulty and distress in our eyes, it’s all the same in God’s eyes because to be guilty of one is to be guilty of all.
What is important is that we seem to have little desire as Believers to get out of the condemnation process, and work as hard as possible at the restoration process. I can only speak for believers, but I am convinced talking publicly about some one’s sin, even if every attempt to resolve it has failed, is no less sin.
It’s the working out of Christ’s words – “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” (John 8:7) Now don’t hear me incorrectly, I’m opposed to all sinfulness. I know Believers are to confront sin in another, resolve it, gain/provide forgiveness, and move on in holiness. It’s just that I also know it is equal sin to toss sinners to the wolves who will make every effort to destroy – never restore.
If, on the other hand, you are without sin, past or present, excuse me for sticking my nose in your business.
