Thought For The Day

New Year (Vintage Post)

2021 is a few days away. I can’t help but wonder what people were thinking in 1921, 1821, and such. I wonder if they were as worried about the future of the Nation, the political, sociological, and financial difficulties of their World, as so many people now seem to be as we end this year.

The renewing of the Affordable Health Care Act, the Congressional No Act, and the impending collapse of the Nation’s financial resources, occupy the minds of thousands of Americans, and the remaining Americans seem oblivious to the nature of the coming disasters. Actually, the only people I know who have a positive attitude regarding the future are those who are secure in their faith as presented in the Word of God. Regardless of what may lie ahead from a Worldly perspective, God has made promises that are immutable and permanent. He will provide for His own, and ultimately take them from this alien journey to an eternal city who builder and maker He is.

Standing on that promise, the future is both bleak, from our perspective, and bright with hope from His. I, for one, am going to focus my attention on seeing all that lies ahead from His perspective. Led by His Spirit, filled with His overflowing llove, and empowered by His mighty Truth, we can live out these days in personal and corporate (the Church) victory. We can know freedom through the Truth, and joy can be our daily bread. We can walk in the light of His revelation, entwine our hearts with those of like persuasion, and know the peace of infinite comfort in and through our Father’s will.

If you are not on board for that. . .it’s time to reconsider.
