Christians and Hand Guns
Does a Christian need a handgun? (I am assuming all, or most of us, don’t have a lot of trouble with hunting rifles and shotguns for birding. But what about a handgun?)
I am not going to answer that question, because that is not my area of concern. What does concern me is that on June 28, 2010, the Supreme Court of the United States of America released their decision (opinion?) that the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States applied to citizens in all States and the District of Columbia. Again, it is not the gun issue that drives my thinking but the understanding that in a 5 to 4 vote, the Constitution. . .the Constitution of the United States of America was upheld. Are you listening? Almost enough votes. . .one vote short. . . of determining the Second Amendment un-Constitutional.
Think about it. What if there is a decision to be made about the First Amendment? I make my living utilizing free speech. What about a vote on the Fifth Amendment, or the the Eighth, or Thirteenth, of Fifteenth?
If this doesn’t scare you. . .well, I am not sure you are paying attention. (Need I mention a nominee to the Court is currently being interviewed by the Senate)
Thank God the Court will never have the opportunity to declare the Bible un-Constitutional. . . or public Worship. . .or prayer. . .or even God Himself.
