Truth vs. Lies
When it comes to all things political, I am going to hazard the following statement: It’s pretty hard to get the Truth.
In a article I read this morning from ABC News, by Amy Bingham, a long time political consultant, Phil Noble, was quoted as follows:
“The number-one sin in American politics is, in my judgment, thou shalt not B.S. me. Just tell me the truth,”. . . . (you will pardon the vernacular, I trust) He is, of course, referring to the latest “sex scandal” in the Presidential candidate arena.
While I choose to be totally unconcerned about that issue, I am fully in favor of creating a universal mandate for all politicians (indeed, every person regardless of profession or standing in life) to “just tell the Truth.” I am pretty confident, that for most folks, most of the time, those now famous lines from a movie of recent fame, are apropos here: (Attorney) “What I want is the Truth!” (response) “You can’t handle the Truth!”
I believe we can handle the Truth. From Presidents to Presidential candidates, to the man on the street and the girl next door; give me the Truth.
I pray that the Truth is all that is ever heard in the House of the Lord. I trust that when you attend your local Church, Truth is the conversation, the singing, the message, and the lifestyle. I long for that to be the standard in the political arena and every other operation of life.
We can handle it!!
