Shake It Up
Back to the things people say. . .
Mitt Romney’s campaign took a bit of a hit when it was hinted that what he said during the primary was not necessarily what would be said during the general election run. People will, of course, forget. Most people have the attention span of a two year old.
“You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again,” Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said on CNN Wednesday when asked if the conservative positions Romney has taken during the primaries would hurt him in the general election. (ABC Yahoo News)
I know too many people who handle God’s Word with the same kind of foolishness. If what it (the Scripture) says does not fit with one’s agenda, or if the difficulty of being obedient conflicts with a careless lifestyle, one can just “shake it up” and become “creative.”
I am convinced that is a mistake. God’s memory is not suspect. His commitment to His Word is immutable. His Word says what it means, and means what it says. There’s a lot of comfort in that Truth.
Wish that were always true for the Presidential candidates.
