Mind Altering
I’ve been reading some interesting research regarding use of the Internet. Words like “addicting,” “mad,” “rewiring,” and such like are the focus of what the Internet may be causing in the minds of those who are more than casual users.
Obviously nothing has been settled, nor is there much agreement about whether the Internet is ultimately a bad thing from a mental perspective, but one thing is for sure: Lots of people are “hooked” on it – meaning, they spend hour after hour glued to the computer.
One might want to consider something more productive – which is not to say that there isn’t much to learn online – because there is. Try spending a little more time working, reading a “real” book (my suggestion would be the Bible), or go outside and take a walk, visit a park or create a new flower bed. I don’t remember reading any research that indicates those activities will make you “crazy.”
One thing, though. You need to keep reading lloveletters. And, of course I will let you know if the “Internet is driving you nutty” research get confirmed.
