Thought For The Day

Do It Now!

I written this note (or something like it) before, but it’s time to do it again.

I learned this week that one of my longtime friends died about a month ago. She lived far away and although we had corresponded just a month earlier, I will never have the opportunity to again tell her how valuable her contribution was to my life. I would have attended the service, had I known. I would have been more attentive had I not expected we would have more time. She was 90 years old – what was I thinking?

Today would be a good day to make that call, write that note, send an e-mail or even a text message. Some folks will assume you have just discovered that you are dying of cancer, and they will get all up-tight and worry about you. It’s OK, really! If you llove someone, appreciate someone, have a history with someone that has changed your life, or made you better, or touched you with care – say so! Do it today! You will probably have several other opportunities to do so – at least, maybe.
