Thought For The Day

Sad News

It’s textbook adopting time in Texas. Our students are going to be taught “stuff” and those who write and approve textbooks have an opportunity to immeasurably control what those students learn. There is really sad news today –

According to Mark Agee in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram“Almost 98 percent of the 450 biologists and biological anthropologists for 49 public and private universities in the state who responded to the survey rejected the movement known as Intelligent Design as teaching invalid science, according to the survey commissioned by the Austin-based Texas Freedom Network.”

So, if I understand this correctly, 98 percent of the respondents teaching in the Universities of Texas have no idea how life began or continues. How sad for the students they will contact over the years.

While I am not a supporter of “Intelligent Design” (I am a full-fledged, certifiable creationist), at least those folks are wise enough to see that “evolution,” as it is taught, is just plain silly in light of genuine science.

In an even stranger study, “According to a survey by Raymond Eve, a University of Texas at Arlington sociologist, 94 percent of biologists and biological anthropologists who responded said objections to evolution are not scientifically valid. 80 percent believe that emphasizing “weaknesses” of evolution theory would substantially harm students’ college readiness. . .and their ability to compete for 21st century jobs. 91 percent strongly believe that support for evolution is compatible with religious faith.” (Star-Telegram background)

Now listen up! The major “junk” science is that which refuses to admit that life as we know it is IMPOSSIBLE utilizing Darwinian theory. And what on earth does “pointing out the weaknesses of evolution theory” have to do with getting a job? (Unless you want to teach science in a Texas University, evidently) And, and, listen closely, if you believe that support for “evolution theory” is compatible with genuine faith in God (and I happen to be an authority on that matter) you don’t know faith and you don’t know God. God said He did it! God said faith is believing and trusting Him!

How sad for our students that they learn such foolishness (evolutionary theory) while they are yet so undiscerning!
