About Traveling
There is something about traveling that is therapeutic. Except the part where one is standing around the airport enduring flight delays, inability to get a seat on the bus to the hotel, cold breakfast in the dining room, and a noisy group next room down partying at midnight.
As we left Portland today, my son said we might be visiting him on his sail boat in the Caribbean next year. I assured him that would be just fine. I have always enjoyed visits to the Caribbean and island hopping sounds just about right.
It got me to thinking about Heaven. You know, the new Heaven and the New Earth? Imagine how it will be if on the New Earth we will be able to go anywhere. . .all the incredible wonderful, beautiful places. . .as often as we wish and stay as long as we like. I could get into that. I know we will have responsibilities and work (God is worker and designed us to be also), but with time no longer a factor, we can “vacation” as much as we like.
I have to get back to work tomorrow. I am looking forward to that as well, but just a few more days, and a few more places, and the incredible beauty and majesty of what God has created on this yet fallen world. Imagine the new one all perfect and awe inspiring with no time, and no problems, and no sin.
Probably best not to get to preoccupied with that, though. I gotta go catch this flight. I think it is on-time.
