America and the Church
In my opinion we are seeing a demise of America’s greatest strengths. One of our great strengths is the “melting pot” where we all become “Americans” with a common language, culture, and social structure. Multiculturalism destroys that. We have built the strongest economy and created the best standard of living in the World through Capitalism and Free Enterprise, and every day we move closer to a socialism that will ultimately destroy that economy and our standard of living. We are a Nation built on law and order and equal justice for all. Now we are being told that certain people, because of their history, or their background, or their experiences in life, can make better decisions based on their “attitudes” and “feelings,” than can be garnered from an unbiased and strict interpretation of our Constitution and Laws.
The Church of Jesus Christ has been trying to make these kinds of changes for more years than the United States. God established the Church, wrote its laws and standards, and “closed the book.” There have always been men, and women, and now seemingly more and more of them, who believe they have a better idea. They “realize” that God’s pattern for life is outdated, needs improvement, a few tweaks and changes, and sometimes a wholesale disposal of those things that are no longer palatable to the human mind.
In both cases we (whoever that might be as you make your decisions regarding these things) are being told that everything will get better. I’m sorry. I think that is wrong. Terribly wrong. Devastatingly wrong. Dead wrong. We can and will destroy this great Nation if we abandon what has brought us here – not perfect, not always right, not without fault and failure, but the greatest Nation to ever exist on this planet. We will never destroy the Church, but we can make it weak and ineffective, and take what is always perfect, always right, always without fault and failure, and God’s greatest gift to us this side of redemption, and turn it into something we can’t use and He won’t use.
Believer, wake up! American, wake up! Hear these words from the Apostle Paul (the Spirit of God):
“Another reason for right living is that you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for the coming of our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So don’t live in darkness. Get rid of your evil deeds. Shed them like dirty clothes. Clothe yourselves with the armor of right living, as those who live in the light. We should be decent and true in everything we do, so that everyone can approve of our behavior. Don’t participate in wild parties and getting drunk, or in adultery and immoral living, or in fighting and jealousy. But let the Lord Jesus Christ take control of you, and don’t think of ways to indulge your evil desires.” Romans 13:11-14
