Anywhere, Anytime
I am never surprised when death comes to those who do “wild and crazy” things. “Hey, mom, I’m going out to ride my motorcycle down the freeway at 90mph on one wheel.” Uh huh. “Cars on the track reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour.” Uh huh. “Hey, Bob, let’s go skydiving, mountain climbing, ocean cave diving.” Uh huh.
But who would think that that going out to blow some debris off the lawn, or plant some flowers, would result in death.
Ft. Worth Star-Telegram (5/12/10): “A lawn maintenance worker died early Tuesday after he was struck by a passing motorist, according to authorities. The accident occurred about 9:50 a.m., when an employee with [a lawn maintenance firm] was removing debris from the street with a leaf blower, police said.”
No one is promised tomorrow. . .or even later today. We all take life for granted, especially if we are not involved in a “dangerous” profession or practice rodeo bull fighting as a hobby. The reality is we are all just one heartbeat away from the journey into “eternal life.” Many will spend that life in the presence of Almighty God in a place we call Heaven. Others will spend that life in separation from God in a place we call Hell. Your arrival at one or the other may be soon, even today.
Are you really ready for that? You can find answers to that question at a Bible believing Church. If you don’t know of one – respond here.
