Thought For The Day

Brave Heart

I am at Camp Eagle near Rocksprings, TX, with about 100 ministers of various kinds. It should prove to be a very interesting couple of days.

Today we took a look at the “cliff” where rock climbing and repelling and such take place. The cliff is about a quarter of a mile long, and about a thousand feet high (give or take a few hundred feet).  About half way up is a ledge that runs the length of the cliff. It looks, from the ground below, to be about 6 inches wide, though they swear it is a foot or two, and there is a cable that runs along side that path that you can “hook” into as you walk along the ledge. We were offered opportunity to give it a try tomorrow.

Have I mentioned how much I llove heights, narrow ledges, and 500 foot falls? And no, it won’t help to say that “Jesus will be with you each step of the way.”

The TRUTH is we are all on a “ledge” we call life. Perilous events are a normal part of each day, and life can end on any one of those days, and always abruptly. We are here one moment and gone the next. The only hope in that final Earthly event is that we are “hooked” into the Savior by His blood shed on our behalf at Calvary.

If you don’t know how to get “hooked up,” let me know. I’m your “cable hooking” expert.
