Bush’s Fault
According to the “news” President Obama, who promised during his campaign for office that he would not sign spending legislation with “pork,” will sign the latest appropriations bill with over 8000 “earmarks.”
His excuse? It’s Bush’s budget. He says that when “his budget” comes around, he won’t allow any “pork.” I keep wondering how long we will be able to blame everything that is wrong on former President Bush?
Of course, Believers have been using this kind of thinking for centuries. We sin. We blame it on Satan. Or we blame it on our parents, our spouse, our children, our boss, our friends, our neighbors. . .well, you get the picture. We must get past that kind of illogical thinking and acting. Surely we have failed to accept the Truth: “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
We sin because we choose to sin. We blame others for our failures (both spiritually and politically) because we are unwilling to admit that we are weak.
Stop blaming your sin on others. Accept responsibility. Stop blaming President Bush, Mr. Obama. Develop some of that responsibility you keep talking about.
