Thought For The Day

Celebrate! (2)

My supposition is that since I am writing this on Saturday (December 21), it is quite possible you will be reading it on Sunday (December 22). If you are reading it early in the morning, I trust you are planning to attend your local Church today. Our’s is hearing our fabulous Choir as they sing the beautiful Bethlehem story. I llove such music. If you are reading it late, and have missed Church, let me remind you that Christmas is about the Savior, and we are those whom He has redeemed – those He called “His Church.” Gathering to celebrate His birth gives us reason to celebrate the entire year – He is alive, He rules, He is coming, and He is Lord of all.

There is great sentiment growing toward silencing those who would speak of such. Perhaps some will live to see the day when Church buildings will be shuttered, Christmas songs sung only in private, and the “reason for the season” will be lost to generations who will not hear the “good news” that Christ has come to set mankind free from the chains of sin and death.

Don’t carelessly fritter away your opportunity to celebrate! Don’t miss the special time when much of the focus of the World is on a holiday – and even those who have no reason to celebrate, are reminded that some incredible event occurred over 2000 years ago. Perhaps the opportunity will arise for you to remind them it is Christ the Lord, born to save His people from their sin.

Here at Lloveletters, Bill (for whom I write) and I (the unseen voice) wish you a Christ-filled Christmas. We will return in a few days – and hope to have your attention for a moment.
