Thought For The Day

Discrimination

My father was a Baptist Preacher. He went home to be with the LORD in 1987. As I read today’s news releases, and study the workings of our society, I can’t help but wonder what he would be saying about where we have come in these 28 years since his home going.

I am sure he would be astounded it is arguable that the group suffering the most discrimination would the theologically conservative Believer. I am confident that is hard to see for the vast majority of people, but, in my opinion, the case can be made.

It is hard not to be offended by the immorality that pervades our society. Music, television, movies, the homosexual agenda forcing same-sex marriage approval and Biblically forbidden practices, abortion on demand, and the public education system that has totally rejected the Christian ethic are symptoms of that discrimination. The Government is systematically attempting to remove every vestige of Christianity from the United States military, and people of faith are constantly alert to Governmental attempts to undermine their Constitutional rights.

Any attempt to maintain the right to practice one’s faith without interference is fought at every level until it is determined to be “unconstitutional.” The latest example is the Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act. A summary follows:

A [state] governmental entity may not substantially burden a person’s [defined as an individual, business, religious institution or association] exercise of religion, even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability. (TIME)

Listen! Multitudes are speak out against this State law. I won’t cite all those “important” people who are adamant against allowing Believers to practice their Constitutional right to the “free exercise of religion.”

My father would not believe we have come this far. Sometimes I can’t either.

We do live in exciting times!
The Anti-Christs are coming out of every hiding place trying to destroy the Church.
we have a Savior that is prepared (we just have to Follow him even when the multitude says otherwise)
    Yes, exciting times!
