Evil

Perhaps the reality of evil taking such prominence in our society these days is occurring because so many people are looking for it. Things that seemed to be only “historical” in days past are now the focus of attention for some (and that “some” is probably very small in relationship to the population) who are searching for evil as if it were a valuable commodity.

The President is evil because he sees what the overwhelming majority of others see as well. When two groups of people, regardless of their “political” viewpoint approach each other with clubs, knives, bricks, rocks, guns. . .and hatred, there is going to be a battle in which both are at fault.

Monuments honoring battle weary soldiers, all of whom were citizen soldiers of the United States, who fought for their cause (which was actually States rights), are evil because some have determined it to be so. It has little to do with “slavery,” but the agenda needs a whipping boy” and this one is convenient.

White supremacists (of which there are so few it is hard to define with a  statistical figure) are evil because the want to have a “white” homeland. They lost that battle 175 years ago, and they will never be worth the divisive anger of those who hate them, which is ripping apart our society in some vain attempt to “stop them.”

Public schools named for Confederate citizens of the United States are evil only because they push the “agenda” forward, even though the kids in the schools by-in-large have no idea who those men were, nor what they did, nor why they did it. Ask them!

If every chosen monument is  moved or destroyed,  every “offensive” school name is changed,  every individual selected named a racist, it will never satisfy those “perfect” people who hate all others, nor can an attempt to change America’s history (which cannot be accomplished) further the cause of peace in our homeland.

It is well past time to understand that the future holds enough hatred toward America without our penchant for hating each other. It is time to accept what we can learn from history and focus on the terror coming from those who hate everyone who is an American.  There are plenty of those, and they are coming for us.
