Football Coaches and Preachers
I used to be a Dallas Cowboy fan. I still like to watch them play (except the last few games), but I don’t rush home to see the games anymore.
I have been watching with renewed interest this coaching change. Will things get turned around this season? I hope so.
On of my “favorite” guys on the team is Keith Brookings. I don’t know anything about him, but he appears to play with intensity and determination. He also appears to inspire other a bit along the way as well.
I like his take on the new Coach and operation. I am passing his comments on to my Pastor, because I want him to have the same mindset and outcome.
“There is zero gray area there. It is black and white, very direct and to the point, concise, no misunderstanding. I’ve been hit in the head a lot, but I could understand what he is saying when he stood up there and communicated to our football team. I believe in anybody like that.” (CJ Williams, Star-Telegram.com)
When my Pastor stands to proclaim the Truth – that’s what I want. I’ve only been hit in the head a few times, but I still need a clear, accurate delivery of Scripture, and I need to understand what is said. Furthermore, I made it clear to my Pastor I was especially fond of that “concise” part.
