Headlines
I was intrigued when I saw two Headlines, one after another, in an on-line “news” magazine.
Should You Have to Work to Get Medicaid? Some Red States Say Yes!
A Comedian is Leading the Presidential Election in Ukraine
If one is able-bodied, then, YES. Medicaid is paid for by people who work, and people who use it should work also. If “work” includes such things as volunteering at a shelter, or picking up trash on city streets, that’s OK. Sitting idly at home, or existing in a “tent city” on some street, is not OK.
I think we (read: United States) have several comedians running for President. One particular candidate from Texas is about as “funny” as anyone I have ever seen. The sad part is a lot of people think he is a serious person, with great intellectual insight, but if either is true, I have been fooled. History teaches us that people who have little to no grasp of history, fail to understand the mandatory nature of work/reward lifestyles, disdain an understanding of the sovereignty of National entities, and embrace the failed structures of Socialism and Communism, will not succeed in building and maintaining a great Nation.
Scripture tells us that “those who don’t/won’t work should not eat (see 2 Thessalonians 3:10). Choosing to not eat will soon enough end one’s need for Medicaid. Are there exceptions – people who will need medical care which is not readily available and/or is beyond their means – Yes. But that’s a different question.
The founders of our great Nation understood that political candidates who lacked the characteristics of “great men and women” (if you don’t know the characteristics, don’t “run”) would lead our Nation to ruin. And we easily see that understanding coming to fruition. They believed that a Nation without an allegiance to the Infinite, Omnipotent God of Creation would surely fail.
Must we prove them right?

One would think this basic principle would not be so hard to understand. No work = No Eat. 😉
