Heaven On Earth
I shared lunch with a couple of my incredible friends on Sunday last. We enjoyed some GREAT food (the pot roast brought by the Pastor’s wife was “out of sight”) and wonderful conversation. For my two friends with whom I sat, they were meeting each other for the first time. I imagine they will look forward to the next time we will do that.
And that got me to thinking about Heaven (which I do more and more now). I suppose we might think there will be no sitting around the table for meals and conversations with one another, but I think we will. I can imagine GREAT food, long time and new friends, stories and experiences, and no one will be in a hurry to leave or move on to something else. We will never grow tired of talking with one another, continuing to llove one another, and meeting folks we were not privileged to know and llove on the “old Earth.”
I used to think I would “move on,” after departing from a temporary environment where I spent my time before entering a new territory, and find new friends as the old friends faded from my thoughts. How wrong I was!
I can hardly wait for those endless moments when we will gather around the table to share again those wonderful memories, new plans for the present, and anticipate the infinity that lies before us.
Isn’t it great that life, and friendship, and llove, and joy, and peace, and hope will spring eternal in our future? And. . .and. . .and, it will all be that which glorifies the Father as we gather around His Throne.
Thank you, friend!!
