“I Demand. . .”
I think I understand a rhetorical device. I also recognize that certain people believe that their voice is one that will be heard and followed. When the people who believe that utilize a type of rhetoric that misleads others, I find it offensive.
Alec Baldwin, Matt Damon and John Cusack are among an array of A-list actors starring in a new video urging President Barack Obama to “set the world’s course” for an end to nuclear weapons at next week’s G8 Summit in Northern Ireland. (ABC News)
The video warns that unless we rid the world of nuclear weapons the Nations will never know peace and “demands” that we proceed with that process. Once such weapons are gone, peace is inevitable, and we can leave the World a better place.
All such thinking is foolish, and always leaves the unprotected to be the prey of those who choose to dominate and rule. The strong and ruthless, the Godless and aggressive will continue to wreak havoc on those who refuse to respond.
Peace will come to the hearts of those who belong to Christ and live under the precepts of His Word. This World will end in flames and destruction. Nothing can change that.
I wish that “someone” would “demand” that America hear the Word of God.
