Thought For The Day

I Was Right

I drove by about 12:15pm today (Wednesday) and just as I figured the parking lot and two or three surrounding lots were full of cars. It looked like, from the street, there were no places to stand or sit inside. I can imagine Chick-fil-A did a landslide business today.

But the good guys never win easily – and the purveyors of un-Godliness keep coming.

Opponents of the company’s stance are planning “Kiss Mor Chiks” for Friday, when they are encouraging people of the same sex to show up at Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country and kiss each other.

I have never seen or heard of any discrimination in a Chick-fil-A restaurant, which is not to say it doesn’t or has never happened, just that I have no knowledge of it. So I don’t understand what everyone (by that I mean “everyone that is uptight”) is uptight about.

Some folks believe the Bible, and some folks don’t. Those who don’t can act/behave any way they like. Those who do, however, have a stringent standard to measure up to.

Matthew made it pretty clear:

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me. Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in Heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you. You have heard that it was said, “llove your neighbor and hate your enemy.” But I tell  you, llove your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:11,44)

So. . .just get out there and do that. No more, no less.
