Just Go To Work

Here are some headlines –

Republican lawmakers and an army of independent advocacy groups have mounted an aggressive new public campaign to highlight the stakes in a deal. . .

President Obama is accelerating outreach to key constituencies to shore up
support for his “balanced ” debt-reduction plan of tax increases. . .

Obama then hits the “campaign trail” Friday for a rally at a factory outside
Philadelphia. . .

There are still no plans for the “Big Four” — House Speaker John Boehner, Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — to reconvene for face-to-face discussions,
according to a top congressional aide.

“Hearing from [voters], hearing their voices and hearing their priorities is
essential to helping compel this process forward,” White House spokesman Jay
Carney said Monday.

Listen, folks! The people have already spoken. Check the election totals.  We’re divided almost 50-50, give or take a few folks here and there. Most Americans are confused about these financial matters or have really strong opinions – from, “let’s shut down the Government” to “what we need is an even bigger stimulus package.”

Whether we like it or not, Congress and the President are the people who have been elected to operate the U. S. Government. And, in my HUMBLE opinion, they need to get off the campaign trail, shut their collective mouth in public, get in one or two of the “back rooms” and get these problems on the way to a solution (assuming there is one – and that is doubtful). In the language of we common folks – “JUST SHUT UP AND GO TO WORK!” (Yes. I am shouting.)

Sometimes the Church of Jesus Christ needs to hear those last few words as well. We spend a lot of time and waste a lot of energy arguing (excuse me, I mean “discussing” of course) whose got the Truth, whose got the power, whose got the resources.

All the TRUTH is clear in God’s Word. All the power is via His indwelling Spirit. He always provides the resources to the obedient. So, for both groups (Believers and Politicians). . . Hush with the propaganda! Just get to WORK!
