Just What We Need

It is not a matter of whether our Nation is on the brink of bankruptcy. We are over the cliff – many believe it is far to late to avoid a financial collapse. People are literally at war over the Federal mandates regarding health care. Iran and Israel are threatening a war that will burn indefinitely and surely drag the United States into the conflict – even while we are mired in Afghanistan.

Our Nation has no budget (over three years now), the confidence of Americans is perhaps at an all-time low, and prices for fuel and good of all kinds are skyrocketing. Truth in the political arena is rather hard to come by, and morality is sinking fast.

But – not to worry. Our Congressional leaders (Dick Durbin, being the primary promoter in this issue) – being on top of what rally matters – are about to get to work. After all, this matter of “bounty hunting” in the National Football League, is a major concern to most Americans, don’t you think?

“After consulting with Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy and Crime Subcommittee Chairman Sheldon Whitehouse, I will convene a hearing to explore the prevalence of this bounty practice and determine whether existing sports bribery laws should be expanded to include a prohibition on bounties,” [Dick] Durbin said. Heaven help us! I am pretty sure that is the only help we are going to get.
