Life After Death?
A story by Laura Fitzpatrick in Time Online caught my attention.
“Is there life after death? Theologians can debate all they want, but radiation oncologist Dr. Jeffrey Long says if you look at the scientific evidence, the answer is unequivocally yes.”
Of course I find it strange that “theologians” would be debating the issue. After all, isn’t a “theologian” a person who studies God? Didn’t God give the answer to any questions regarding life after death in His revealed Word? Maybe they have a different god than I do. Pity the poor dummies.
Now comes this physician who is convinced he has proof. Well good for him. I’m afraid I have not been waiting for his results to believe, however. I have managed to take God at His Word.
Dr. Long makes a statement near the end of the article that I did enjoy – in my own little way. . .
“The work I do may always require some element of faith. But by the time you look at [the] evidence, the amount of faith you need to have [to believe in] life after death is substantially reduced.”
There’s a name for that kind of faith, Doctor. It’s “childlike.” Everybody ought to know that.
