Lifespan
Last October, scientists made a splash when they determined that on average, people can only live for about 115 years. That was the magic age at which the human body and brain just petered out; it wasn’t designed to chug along much longer than that, they said. (TIME)
How are you doing? Does 115 sound like a number that is in your future. I know a lady who is 95 years old and still getting around like she is much younger.
There is some new work going on in this matter, and some are saying that lifespans could be much longer.
The new papers don’t argue that human lifespan is limitless. But they note that it’s premature to accept that a maximum lifespan for humans exists. It’s equally possible, they say, that humans will continue to live longer, and therefore might survive beyond 115 years. (IBID.)
Fortunately. . .or not, they are all wrong. Once born there is no end to life. It is limitless, never ending, and infinite. Making wise choices regarding you health, eating wisely, exercise, regular consultations with a physician, and being careful in your daily walk, may contribute to a longer life on this Earth.
However, the Scripture teaches us that God has numbered our days (see Job 14:5) for this Earth, and has prepared two places where we will spend eternity after having departed here.
One of those places is with Him, in His presence, in His llove, in His Home for eternity. The other is without Him. Separated from Him forever, and eternally tormented by our failure to believe the message of Grace through Faith.
Life never ends. Learn that. Nothing is more important.
