How dare these upstarts? Do they think they know more than good old Uncle Sam?
Reminds me, however, that if you want to get the Enemy in an uproar, do something startling – like, getting holy. Find yourself committing to personal righteousness, Bible study, fervent prayer, or sharing your faith – even getting consistently involved with the Body of Christ, and the Enemy will attack. He cannot take from you salvation or your home in Heaven, but he can, and will, put the pressure on in your experience. His purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy. He will attempt to steal your joy, kill your enthusiasm, and destroy your peace. He can only succeed if you give in to the pressure. Keep up the “good work” and he will flee. It is our resistance to his effort that drives him elsewhere and leaves us free to enjoy the sweet goodness and comfort of Christ’s presence.
