Thought For The Day

Moon Over China

In an interesting article regarding China’s movement toward establishing a manned moon-base, I read a most interesting paragraph. For a few moments it distracted me from the focus of the article in which Robert Bigelow (Bigelow Aerospace) bemoans the possibility that China will colonize the moon while the United States conserves its monetary resources. His main thrust is that they will then be able to mine the minerals and claim the territory as a part of China.

Of course, I saw the “paragraph” in a wholely different light –

In a nation distracted by latest celebrity sex scandal and other general non-issues, where the political landscape is more often as not polarized and in gridlock through the pervasive use of the fear angle, Bigelow’s message might simply be lost in the general cacophony of what might be the greatest threat to America’s economic and political future. (Saul Relative, Yahoo News)

Actually, in my estimation, the greatest threat to America’s economic and political future (and the subject of the general cacophony that surrounds it) is the movement of America away from God. Every day we are more and more obsessed with “general non-issues. . .polarized and in gridlock” because we have abandoned the very principles that made us a great Nation from the beginning.

Perhaps the problem lies in the reality that we are becoming more and more like China spiritually, and less and less like China in our intellectual and economic prowess. We are increasingly unaware of that which delights the Lord God of Heaven – faithful llove, justice, and righteousness.

Would it be fair to say – the end is near.
