Someone (actually many someones) told the Preacher that he is “getting older” as if it were a sin. The Truth sometimes hurts, and it is difficult to overlook as the “mentions” increase. Some people don’t get very old before their life comes to and end in one way or another. Others live on and on, and get to be told with frequency the reality. But the real Truth is that God has numbered the days of all people, and if we can accept that, getting older is good.
