It’s obvious those folks in France and Japan never knew Trigger, Silver or Champion. Somehow I can’t see Ruth’s Chris serving up a “Secretariat T-bone.” But then, there are a lot of hungry people in the world, and a lot of horses that are abused, abandoned, and dying because of various problems, and killing them for food can’t really be any more inhumane than what is “normal” with cows, sheep, hogs, chickens, etc. They estimate a slaughterhouse could open in 30 to 90 days with state approval and eventually as many as 200,000 horses a year could be slaughtered for human consumption.
