What? You might ask. My interest in what passes for “great” entertainment, I guess. I turned on the TV last night to Fox 4 approximately 8 or 10 minutes before nine. I was waiting for the 9pm News (which didn’t come on till several minutes after nine). What I found was American Idol. It was about the time Janet Jackson took the stage, which was subsequently followed by Joe Cocker. Stars? Jackson looked ridiculous and if what she was doing is “music,” well, I don’t need any. Then came Cocker. He must be nearly as old as me. I am sure (well I am not sure) I have not heard him before.
