Politicians
When our Government was established, I am pretty sure the Statesmen who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution did not fully realize that the whole would fragment into the divisive pieces that exist today. I am convinced it has become what it is because “politicians” became the so-called guardians of the Republic.
Every once-in-a-while someone comes along about whom we can have some hope. While we are yet to test the mettle of this politician fully, I can safely say – “so far, so good,” at least relatively speaking.
On spiritual matters, he told the pastors, “We are in a battle to turn this country around.” Later, in a one-on-one sit-down interview with The Brody File, he said this country is badly in need of spiritual revival. He charged the pastors to step up and speak boldly about the issues facing our country today. He compared all of them to Esther, saying the biblical woman was put in a position of leadership, “for such a time as this.” (CBN News)
I am speaking of Texas Senator Ted Cruz. This language is atypical, in my opinion, of those who populate the halls of Congress. His father is a Southern Baptist preacher, and while that worries me a bit, he seems to have his “head on straight,” at least for the time-being.
Praise God for “small” victories in this dying World.
