Remember Job?
Job (from perhaps the oldest book in the Old Testament) was taken by the Enemy through a series of devastating tragedies as God staked His own reputation on Job’s faith. From that narrative we have developed a cliche – “the patience of Job.” No doubt he was a patient man.
A day after Vice President Joe Biden said he was “absolutely comfortable” with gay marriage, signaling the Obama administration’s evolving views on same-sex marriage, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said on “Morning Joe” that he believes it should be legal.
“Yes, I do,” Duncan said when asked by Time political analyst and MSNBC contributor Mark Halperin if same-sex marriage should be legal in the United States. (Yahoo News, The Ticket)
Fortunately, our God is even more patient with His impending universal judgment on the sins of men. The Apostle Peter tells us it is because He (God) is not willing that any individual should perish, but that all should come to eternal life.
I am not sure how much longer He (God) will hold His judgment.
