Security

It was my responsibility to cancel a security system alarm service today. In today’s world many people feel like some kind of home security system is a requirement and it gives them a sense of safety. (At my home we rely on Smith and Wesson security)

Naturally (surely, you say) it got me thinking about our eternal security in Christ Jesus. The Scripture is clear that when we have been redeemed by the blood of God’s perfect Lamb, we are forever secure. Nothing is able to take us from the safety of His hand and the certainty of in infinite future in His presence.

Just as a safety alarm will not keep someone from illegally entering your home, our security in Christ will not keep us from all harm. There are no assurances beyond sufficiency – which means we are relying on Him through both good times and bad. I can,  however, put away all worry about the future, all concern about sickness and injury, all fear of death. I am His! Nothing can change that.
