Solutions
The “media” is looking for “solutions” to the growing problem of “gun violence” in America. Politicians, the medical community, law-enforcement, and some of the average people on the streets are as well. Mostly the focus is on mental health and/or gun control and/or confiscation of all firearms. We don’t seem to be spending much time worrying about the mayhem created by “terrorists” (bombs, vehicles, airplanes, etc.). I suppose we have given up on any way to stop that short of. . .better intelligence.
I will make a suggestion. . .which may have no merit at all, or could be part of the answer. . .but will “go nowhere” I assure you.
First, my understanding is that fully two-thirds of those killed by guns are suicides. I believe that is a whole different argument when it comes to solutions. So let’s deal with just those “gun deaths” that are outside that realm. Second, no one seems to be arguing that Chicago street violence is not another huge factor. I don’t know if my solution will help there (I think it would), but it might. So for the present I will deal only with those “mass” shootings.
We need a new survey with accurate determinations, and answers that are “provable” by a significant majority of those people who answer the survey. There is only one question, but understanding the question and providing the answer needs to be narrow and consistent.
Here is the question: How many of the people, dead or alive, who have been accused as “mass murderers” using firearms for the deed (examples -Sutherland Springs, Las Vegas, Newtown), were known by family and friends as “Believers” (those redeemed by the blood of Christ), were committed to a Biblical Church where they regularly attended, and demonstrated a lifestyle similar to others who are “noted for their faith?”
Once we have that answer, perhaps there could be an INSIGHT as to where we could begin to resolve all, most, or at least some, of the future problems from “gun violence.”
The issue is not gun control, rather, it is “man” control.

I agree! The greatest need is a change of the human heart that is DECEITFUL and desperately wicked, who can know it. Only God can take out the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, the flesh acts, the sins are committed. True conversion/Salvation through jesus Christ is the answer!
