Summer Reading
I would wager you have been anxiously waiting to see what Bill Gates (think Microsoft) has been reading. I found his list interesting. But there is one book you must not miss.
Summer is a great time to escape: to the beach, to the mountains, or to the world of a great book. This year, I found myself drawn even more than usual to books that took me outside (and I don’t mean the great outdoors). The books on this year’s summer reading list pushed me out of my own experiences, and I learned some things that made me question my own thinking about how the world works. (TIME)
I too read a lot of books. I believe that is a worthy goal. There is no doubt that we learn immensely from the lives and actions of other people around us. I won’t publish his list here (you can look it up if you like), and you too might learn some new things.
Let me suggest a great book for Summer reading. The Bible. I am always surprised, and pleased when someone new to the Scriptures reminds of a narrative they have read from Scripture that they find exciting and eventful. I am thankful when I hear folks telling me they have learned a principle or adopted a goal that come from their Bible reading.
I hope you’ll find that others make you think deeper about what it means to truly connect with other people and to have purpose in your life. (Bill Gates)
I know that reading God’s Word will make you think deeper about many things, and teach you how to connect with people, and you WILL find purpose for your life.
Read well this Summer. You deserve the best!
