Support the President
Maybe it’s time to support the President’s “stimulus” plan. He’s pushing other politicians to “get moving.”
Associated Press – WASHINGTON – “President Barack Obama says the recession will turn into a ‘catastrophe’ if the economic stimulus is not passed quickly. Obama rejected several criticisms of the plan: that tax cuts alone will solve the problem, or that longer-term goals such as energy independence and health care reformare not also critical to address at the same time. The White House released some of Obama’s remarks ahead of an event on executive compensation limits.Obama subtly referenced his win in November while arguing that recalcitrant lawmakers need to get behind his approach. Obama urged members of Congress ‘to act without delay’ while also promising to “work to make it stronger.”
I can see where this is going. If Congress does not pass the “package,” the President will be able to blame Congress because they did not act. If they had followed his lead, everything would have been resolved. If they do pass it (the stimulus package), it will fail to resolve the problem (remember it is a “pork” bill, or an “appropriations” bill rewarding the President’s supporters) and we will be worse off in a few years than we are now.
So, let’s “git ‘er dun.” What have we got to lose? Oh yeah, either way we lose America, the greatest country on Earth.
