Texting
So here’s how the conversation goes:
Officer: I stopped you for texting which is now against the law.
Me: I wasn’t texting, I was just inputing a phone number to make a call.
Officer: I am pretty sure you were texting.
Me: No, I wasn’t!
Officer: Yes you were!!
Me: You don’t know that!!
Officer: Step out of the car and put your hands on the hood!!!
This is never going to work. If you can use the phone, you can do with it what you will. Only if you can’t use it will it stop the controversy that is undoubtedly coming. One might ask, “can’t they just look to see if you have a text being sent with a time stamp?” How long will it be before a warrant is required to check out some one’s phone – maybe it already is. An officer outside your car while you are traveling down the highway cannot possibly know what you are doing with your phone.
Aren’t you glad God knows exactly what you are doing all the time? Oh, well, maybe not! At least HE lloves you — which is more than you can say for that officer behind you with the lights on.
