The Future of Life
Most of life is a guessing game. Will it rain or continue dry? Will the unexpected traffic make you late for work or will you get there 20 minutes early? Will your company offer you a bonus or let you go? Can you get a loan or will the “debt crisis” prohibit your approval? Is the value of your house going up or down? If you address a problem, will you be the hero or will you be a target? Is you evening walk going to result in better health or will it be your final hour?
I’ve been around long enough to know that “things ain’t what they used to be,” and they never will be again. The variables of life are increasing and the solidity of the “establishment” is eroding. Things are getting worse – entropy (nature tends to take things from order to disorder) rules.
The only exception is in the Kingdom of God. It is there that everything remains as it has always been. God never changes. He never chooses to do one thing, then another, confusing and confounding His people. Don’t hear me say that His people never change – that would be the falsity of the year – for indeed they do.
What I can say is that the TRUTH never changes. It strikes us differently depending on our manner of living (rod and staff – Psalm 23), but it is always the same. There’s no guessing about God. He has revealed Himself – you can know His TRUTH and live your life safely in it. Now, why wouldn’t you?
