Turn the Ship
I’ve been thinking about our current Government “crisis.” The “media” are screaming at the top of their lungs as if America is the Titanic and we are fifteen feet from the iceberg. Of course that is not true, but let’s suppose for a moment it were. I have no doubt that the “ship” will turn in time. We are not going to hit the iceberg. We are not going to sink quickly into the cold depths of a quick icy death. The “media” is on the wrong end of the ship. While they watch for “icebergs” and frantically sound the false alarms, back in the lowest hold of the “ship” the real danger is the 1/2 inch holes being drilled in the hull.
Congress is looking in the wrong direction. The Executive branch of the Government is asleep at the wheel (or more likely – the ones with the drill), and the Judicial branch is looking over the ship’s construction designs hoping to find a flaw in the structure with which to blame the builders. Meanwhile, keeping everyone focused on the iceberg, the ship of state is sinking slowly into the abyss of mismanagement, greed, stupidity, and gross negligence.
It’s been happening to the so-called church of Jesus Christ for years. The “real” Church, always small (“few there be that find it”) keeps trying to shout the Good News above the din of the “pretend” church that is always looking in the wrong direction, asleep at the wheel, and looking for a way to change the “plans” which are perfectly revealed in Scripture.
Fortunately, Christ is coming for His Church. I am just hoping it is before we have to watch America become a third-world Country, bereft of the greatest opportunity ever conceived by the mind of man, and, I believe, aided by the grace of God.
The inmates are running the asylum.
