Vote – Come/Go
I believe I have made it clear in a previous post or two that all American citizens who can vote, should vote. I encourage those around me to vote because I believe that only when “the people” speak at the ballot box do the politicians hear.
So I will write about another issue.
I see a lot of my friends, along with someone else’s friends who are burning up Facebook, sending messages, texts, tweets, and so on, urging everyone to vote. Good. But what if all of those who are Believers (most of my close friends are) who are so active about getting out the vote became active about using their social media for encouraging everyone to “come” or “go to” Church? Surely voting is important and vital, but so is being involved in the Body of Christ. I fully believe that no Believer should require encouragement to obey the Scripture (Hebrews 10:25), but it seems that most (should I say “a significant number”) do.
Certainly those who are not Believers should be encouraged to visit a local congregation where the Truth is clearly proclaimed – because their life literally depends on hearing the message of salvation and exercising saving faith, and that is one of the best places to hear the GOOD NEWS. Believers should be encouraged because they are needed, wanted, necessary, vital, useful, and lloved. Of course, being a Believer, you can also clearly deliver that message (of God’s grace) yourself!
The outcome of any election whereby we populate our Government is important. It will affect each life one way or another, but certainly not eternally. Coming to faith in Christ will affect one’s life now, and one’s life to come after one has finished one’s time here on Earth. We are all created to live forever – with God or eternally separated from Him.
What if every Believer consistently proclaimed that on their Facebook page, and every other social media?
